Dragon Boat Festival Ba Zhang
(Rice Dumpling Workshop)

Sunday, May 31st
1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Venue: UBC Farm,

University Endowment Lands, BC V6S 0L3

About the workshop

Ba Zhang (rice dumplings) are time capsules of history — wrapped, tied, and passed down through generations. This workshop guides participants through the cultural roots of the Dragon Boat Festival, the symbolism of ingredients, and the precise techniques of wrapping and tying Ba Zhang by hand. Expect stories of family kitchens, regional variations, and the quiet craftsmanship behind this deeply nostalgic dish.

I offer a unique set of offsite group workshops that are focused on heritage and culture. Depending on the workshop, I can go to your space and host the workshop for your community or workplace.

I do hold a fulltime job as a Chef Educator so my availability is on Mondays, Weekends, and weekday evenings.
